When Your Business Name Gets Put on Trial... 🤔
So, apparently, registering a business in Fiji comes with a bit of an interrogation. 🙄 You walk in ready to set things up, and the first thing they ask is, “How does your business name even relate to what you’re doing?” 😳
If they can’t figure it out, be prepared for some delays or even a rejection! 😅 Imagine the hassle—just think about RB Patel getting asked, "What do groceries have to do with RB Patel?"
Sure, if you’ve got a whole philosophical breakdown of your name ready, you’ll be fine. But if you’re just looking to get through the process quickly without any extra drama? Yeah, it’s a total headache.

And it didn’t take long for the choir to join in with their own frustrations. 🎤👇

📢 Local News
Australia’s Social Media Ban for Kids – Should Fiji Follow Suit? 🤔📱
Australia just dropped a bombshell on the world stage by approving a social media ban for kids under 16. After an emotional debate that’s been taking over the nation, it’s setting a new global standard with one of the toughest regulations targeting Big Tech.
Curious about what Fijians think? We polled 160 local respondents, and the results were clear—79% of you are all for the ban.

One interesting perspective came from Aren Nunnink (Fiji Times), suggesting the issue isn’t with the under 16s themselves, but with their parents. Apparently, it’s the adults wasting time on social media, and the kids are just following suit

But here's the real kicker: How will this be enforced? Some are suggesting a digital ID system or even biometric data (facial recognition tech, anyone?) to keep things in check.
As Australia figures it out, we wanted to know: What’s your take on the social media ban for under 16s?

🔍 Beyond the Numbers: Exploring Fiji’s Education Decline

The recent report revealing that 6,000 Year 8 students have failed underscores significant issues within Fiji’s education system. One major factor is the “no-repeat policy” introduced by the previous government, which has unintentionally fostered a sense of complacency among students, reducing their drive to excel academically.
Additionally, outdated teaching methods and a lack of adequate resources continue to hinder effective learning. Parental engagement remains low, leaving students without the essential support needed at home to succeed. While digital distractions, such as social media, do play a role, the primary challenges lie in systemic and communal factors.
What’s Needed:
📚 Modernised Teaching Methods: Update curricula and teaching strategies to better engage today’s students.
🛠️ Increased Resources: Provide schools with the necessary tools and materials to enhance learning environments.
👨👩👧 Enhanced Parental Involvement: Encourage parents to take an active role in their children's education.
📜 Policy Reassessment: Reevaluate the “no-repeat policy” to promote perseverance and academic growth.
⚖️ Balanced Digital Use: Implement strategies to help students manage their time between studies and digital activities.
Around the grounds, voices echoed a mix of shock and disappointment, yet also sparked motivation and hope that not all is lost

Teacher, You Have Some Explaining to Do! 🤔📚
So this one’s a classic! A school kid gets his test back, and the shock on his face says it all. The question asks, "What number comes after 59?" He writes 60—marked wrong! 😱 But hold up, the next question asks what comes after 70, and his answer of 71 is correct. The kid can’t help but call out his teacher, saying, "Why did you mark that wrong? Tell me now, I’m putting this online!" 😂
